Happy Holidays from the Bridgewater College Women’s Basketball team!! I can’t believe that the first semester of the 2011-12 year is gone!!I’d like to start off by congratulating head coach Jean Willi on her 300th career victory!! That is an average 19 wins per season over the last 16 years! Incredible!! I have been on Coach Willi’s staff since she became head coach and although we have had some bumps in the road, it has been a great ride!!
Also congratulations to junior Jessica Mullen. On Tuesday night against Southern Virginia, Jess scored a career high 34 points. For her efforts, she was named the O.D.A.C. Player of the Week!! The second time this season she has earned this honor!! Way to go Jess!
We enter the break with a 4-3 record and a two-game win streak! We open up the 2012 season with conference foe Roanoke on Jan. 3!! Whenever these two teams face each other it is always a “dog fight” – you can toss the records because it is going to go down to the wire!! After that the season really is in full swing …three games a week with the conference tournament at the end of February!!
Thanks to all our fans that helped support our toy drive on Tuesday, December 6! We were able to collect 215 toys for the Rockingham County United Way!! These toys will make some local children very happy on Christmas morning, so THANK YOU!!
